OMG! The Website is one year old! Amazing! Awesome! Astonishing! Another word beginning with ‘A’!
And . . . I got very little if anything planned. Yeah, I will be blunt, not many people are coming to the site. In fact, I am rarely even on the site lately. Yeah, it is kind of sad but almost like a badge of honor. I have stuck with doing this site for months with nothing in return.
Well, I'll take that back. I have gotten something in return. I have been having fun doing the weekly updates for the past year. I am going to make the updates monthly now. Which is for the best to avoid rants with little substance and a lot of complaining of being ‘MeH’.
I have been avoiding social media a lot lately because . . . well, it is social media and it is not very appealing to me. I did make a BlueSky account but have done next to nothing with it. I have heard that Facebook has gotten worse, which I did not think was possible. Twitter [or X, seriously, it's like a Mega Man villain boss or something now] is something I actively want nothing to do with. Instagram is something Zach is doing but I’m still in the air about joining anything social media.
I actually kind of like how quiet the site is. It makes it feel like . . . a ghost town, which is nice and spooky. I like nice and spooky things. And what the future holds is up in the air. I am hoping people organically find the site and are entertained by my ramblings and odd articles and goofy stories. There are no limitations to what I could do with the blog but for now, I am going to continue to just post on my own site and enjoy the activity of writing and making up fun stuff.
I look back on making this site and I still grit my teeth on how annoying and frustrating and rage inducing making a site can be. Seriously, I get why people are paid to do that. It is not something for those with little patience to do. I have patience for days and powered through, releasing the site on 10 / 16 / 2024. Which is beautiful since October is my favorite month and my birth month too!
Zach and I were making our websites at the same time before our book “The Last Job: File 3454” was released. We were told by other authors that having an author’s site is a good idea. And here is mine, a year later. And I am proud of the final result. It is plain but at least appealing to my eyes. I am happy with it and still intend on doing some fun with the site.
It is hard for me to believe that a month after launching the site, I experienced the most horrifying moment in my life which was followed by my most embarrassing moment of my life. While Zach and I were taking pictures by the heater in my family’s garage, my pants were set on fire and I suffered burns on my rump. I do talk about that during my blogs for December of 2024 and January of 2025, so check those out.
And it was due to being off of work recovering from those burns, I spent my time creating the blog stories “Your Dreadfulness Lines With Mine” and “Zombie Xapper.” Those were a lot of fun to do. I have not got around to doing any more blog stories though. Hopefully, in the future, there will be more stories.
I also dabbled into doing articles, such as “Love of the Craft” which listed my favorite HP Lovecraft stories. And I also did “37 Anime I Binged in a Month” utilizing all the anime I had watched while recovering into something productive. I have also done my thoughts on superhero movies that have been released to theaters, while those are still around. So, there is some “content” on the site, as the influencers would say.
Also I look back at the many, many hobbies I have shared like the “Call of the Cthulhu RPG” and “Anime” and "Music" and "Comic Books" and “Loop Hero”. Seriously, I should just do blogs on the many things that take my attention away from writing. I have that special flavor of ADHD where I pay attention to too many things at once. And I am terrible at multitasking. I am listening to podcasts while typing this and it has been a struggle. But I need something in the background while doing these blogs. It challenges me to pay attention to typing.
Hey! Podcasts! That is another hyperfixation I have and could talk about.
Making the title pictures using my old dice tray and my dice collection has been really fun. Trying to come up with new patterns and original pics related to the blog has been . . . not as challenging as I thought it would be. Ripping keys off old keyboards and getting a whole bag of Scrabble titles has also added some nice flavor to the title pics. I look forward to making more fun with my dice tray and assorted dice and knickknacks.
At the end of the day, I just enjoy writing. And having this site to release some of my creativity out there into the world is a good thing. Right now I am motivated to write a personal project that I am keeping to myself, for now. But who knows what the future brings, maybe I will stay motivated enough to make more creative CONTENT for the site.
I will say this right now, those silly “PS” running gags at the end of the blogs I have been making are coming to an end. They have been fun for the blog updates but I feel they have run their course. A whole year has passed and I still have no idea what I am doing. But I do enjoy doing things off the cuff and it has been cathartic to just type and enjoy. And those PS silliness has been one of many, many silly things I have done for the site.
Well, I think that is enough for the one year anniversary blog. And to those of you who have been to the site, thank you and I do hope you have enjoyed your stay. And come back the coming year for more of whatever the brain parasite in my head thinks of next. Totally not thinking of world domination, totally! 😁
Good Luck and here is to another year!

PS: Seriously, this has been more of a habit than a joke. I do intend on not doing these anymore. But since it is a habit, I might fall back on it and do them again every once in a while. Actually, how many of these have I done? I’m not looking into it, have fun counting!
And Happy Anniversary BuckBloomBooks.com! 🎂 Here is to another year!

PSS: Also! I am planning on tagging this article with as many tags and catalogs as I possibly can. Why? Just Because. 😎And so you can go down the rabbit-hole that is this site. Enjoy!
