Update May 2026

Those faces pretty much sum up my mood right now, lolz.
Between the rain and more rain, I can only shrug.

Update May 2026

Well, another month into the year and the weather continues to be DANK! Literal DANK! Cold and wet and windy and yeah. I can complain now but soon summer will be here and damn, I can foresee some dry winds and high humidity. It is kind of hilarious how the weather goes to extremes. I am curious how summer will be this year.

So, what have I been up to for the last month? Good news is that Zach and I are still plugging away at Last Job 2. We have an outline for the chapters and a fairly good idea of the direction of the story. And holy hell, this has been so much fun to write and proofread.

Zach and I trade doing a chapter weekly and call on Sundays to go over things. The laughs we have been having are a highlight for my week. As of writing this, it is my turn to do a chapter and I believe I am writing number 10. Will not reveal how far in to the story that is but I look forward to more of Last Job 2.

Now on my end I for sole work . . . well, I did write a couple of chapters of something slice of life, goofy, and a touch bizarre. The challenge for this story I imposed onto myself was to take the lore and concepts of the DOOM video games and write a story akin to a laid back isekai. And I was into it for a couple of days before loosing track of time and not returning to it. Once I get enough chapters of this story, which I will dub “CCH” I will post them on the blog.

Wow! A new blog story is in the works! If only I can get motivated to do more writing and actually finish it! Yeah, the last full thing I wrote to completion was all the way back in November. Winter has been just brutal to my motivation. Well, I also want to take advantage of any nice weather days and actually do chores/work outside. Stuff that I have been neglecting for longer than I would like to admit. I finally attack some sumac trees that have been taking over the backyard and it felt great. Seeing my hard work actually yield results is a wonderful feeling. So when I do get motivated again, I will likely be away from the computer and tackling the next outdoors project.

Also, my PS4 has been acting up. It has crashed on me on a few occasions, mainly when I am loading Crunchyroll. Now, Crunchy has been derp on the playstation since day one I installed it but this past month is the first time Crunchy has literally CRUNCHED my PS4 into shutting off. I was curious if it was only Crunchy acting up, so I decided to try play a game on my game system. I know, what a novel thought, right? 😜

And since I was into DOOM while writing CCH, I downloaded the demo for DOOM2016. And after playing the demo a couple of time, the third time the PS4 crashed again. So, after some technical work arounds, the PS4 is running though crashes and error messages are still popping up. I genuinely think my PS4 is on its way out. But it works when playing Spotify and I got the full game of DOOM2016 and so far that is working. It is just Crunchy, which seems to be the normal with the app on playstation, lots of bugs.

But I love my anime. I love anime so much that I am willing to endure Crunchy’s derp-tastic ways. Well, at least until I find another anime streaming service that is not totally DANK.

And yes, as I mentioned, I have been playing DOOM2016. It has been a very long time since I last played an FPS and I got to say, I miss Keyboard and Mouse controls. The PS4 control just feels off but I’m having so much fun Ripping and Tearing through the legions of hell, I have adopted thus far.

Though, admittedly, after a week I am only at the fourth mission. And that is not because I’m dying alot, I am on “I’m too Young to Die” because I’m not hardcore like I use to be. No, the reason why I am still so early on in the game is because I am taking my time finding the many, many secrets hidden in the levels. And I am avoiding looking up any helpful info only until I reach the three hour mark.

Yeah, the second level took me an embarrassingly long time to find the secrets and get around the level. I will give the devs this: The maps definitely feel like a game made in the 90s. Say “Turok 2” to anyone who grew up in the 90s, and they will be hit with some nostalgia at first but soon recall how many hours they lost in “the Lair of the Blind Ones” alone.

I am so glad I am not let’s playing DOOM2016. My playthroughs have been 20 to 30 minutes of fighting demons to three or four hours getting lost and finding secrets. I swear, I am fight the map more than the enemies in this game, LOLz.

I have missed gaming but my motivation to finish DOOM is much like a lot of my other hobbies. I enjoy it while I am having fun with it but soon lose interest and move on to something else. Eventually I will find another writing project or something creative to spend my time with and actually be productive.

I have one TTRPG project that I have been pecking away at that has been interesting to develop. But I will hold off with any info on that until I can flush it out more.

. . . what else do I got? Honestly, not much. It has been either work, anime, Last Job 2, chasing that elusive spectre known as a full night’s rest. Finding a consistent project to work on has been difficult lately. If I can only get motivated to work on something and stick with it for a few weeks, I know I will get out of this rut I am in.

It is raining out right now and today as of writing this has been a long day. I think for now, that is enough of an update. Maybe by June, I will have some more interesting news to share. Until then . . .

Good Luck and REvvvv up that Chainsaw!
