So, another month has gone by. And what a month it has been. I am literally writing this at 7:14PM on the Wednesday it will be posted. It has been a busy last couple of weeks for me.
Someone at my place of work decided to leave without two weeks' notice. Supposedly, he was having health issues but I saw no signs of such when working with him. Plus, the guy was half my age and a lot more together then most of my coworkers. But a lot of young people do not last long in retail.
So guess who had to cover for his hours which were a lot. Yeah, yours truly! And its not like the guy was not getting hours. In fact, he was getting a full forty for two weeks even though he was part time. And he wanted full time when he was hired. That was the most frustrating part. Word of advice to anyone reading this, do not ask for full time hours then bail when you actually are scheduled for those full time hours. Yeah, not cool.
If my former coworker does have an illness, I hope he gets better and finds work that is more to his pace. And if he was just calling in just to not work . . . you need a job to earn money. And you need money to pay for things . . . like medical, to get better. And last I looked, this guy did not become a famous influencer overnight. Oh well, them’s the breaks while working retail.
I had worked eight straight eight hours in a row and had not made the time to do any writing besides what Zach and I are doing with Last Job 2. I actually completed my chapter for the week about a couple of hours ago. It was a fun chapter to do and I keep setting things up for Zach to see how he would react.
Beyond that . . . hmmm?
Honestly, with how crazy my last couple weeks have been, and doing my chapter of Last Job 2, I am running on empty. And it does not help that the weather in my area has turned to muggy, humid, hot, DANK! I know I had been very adamant about not liking winter cold and icy nonsense in the past. But the opposite of the temperature spectrum is just as blah!
I’ve been growing a small vegetable garden and I have to give my plants extra water so they don’t burn up. Maybe I will talk more about them once something is harvested. I am grateful to have put the plants in a spot that has shade half way through the day. Otherwise I doubt I would have anything left to grow.
What is really hilarious about this blog update is the timing. Literally next week is my week of vacation and perhaps I will post something during that time. And I vowed to do less anime during that time, which, we shall see. I actually have been into audiobooks lately.
I just recently got on Audible and I am enjoying all manner of audiobooks. I even found a few podcasts I had listened to on Spotify, which is nice. And oddly enough, Audible seems to be more organized than Spotify, in some regards. With these audiobooks, there is some potential for me to actually talk about stories and writing, you know, for once, on a website called Buck Bloom BOOKS. Ha!
I got my hands on an audiobook of Stephen King’s “On Writing” which I fully intend on marathoning and giving my thoughts soon, like during my vacation. That could be a task for myself, giving some thoughts on audiobooks I have listened to thus far.
I do wish I had more to say but nothing big besides being short staffed at work has come up. I am grateful for that, I like leading a slow and uneventful existence. It is no wonder I enjoy isekais where that is the main goal of the protagonist.
So . . . yeah, this is a short one for this month. I might make up for it during my time off and do something actually productive with the website. Or I could just say meh and sit back and fall asleep to the sweet sounds of someone narrating an interesting book.
Anyway, I better wrap this up. It is getting late. And I have to go into work to close soon . . . the Thursday before the Fourth of July weekend . . . yeah!
Good Luck and stay cool if you are anywhere that feels above 100, 🥵
