I remembered the "Update" this time!
Rune Dice: Kaunan, which means "Torch" which is how it feels outside right now

So, it is 6/23 and I’m doing the update a little early due to a long work week ahead. And today I got up super early to get my step goal done outside. Got outside about 5am and walked until around 8am when those mid-70s turned into humid 80s. I cannot believe that, as I type this, my area is in the low 90s.

For months, I have been going on and on about how cold and damp the weather has been. Heck, this year alone, it has been consistently around the 50s or lower. Even May was abnormally chilly. Then, summer appeared and we are in the 90s. That is just crazy to me. And I have been out for like two minutes and nah man, nah. I am not going back outside until sunset now.

So, I might as well get my next blog update out of the way.

I am still gaming but not as much as I could be. It is amazing how fast my hour with Loop Hero goes by but I do put it down once the last minute warning hits. And I tried to unlock the one secret boss I had not fought since the last time I enjoyed Loop Hero. It’s called “ %:1( “ and to unlock this boss, you have to level up Loop-Man until you have only two traits left to gain and the third option is this boss. And I saved the same loop for a full week of playing and still had not unlocked this boss and I got bored and gave up.

Half the fun to Loop Hero is the customization of the maps and how crazy things get. But getting the same crazy after one hour of play, then two, then three, can get old after the fifth. “ %:1( “ is a cute boss to fight and just this little guy made of text symbols. Thing is you get nothing for beating him, not even any silly dialogue from Loop-Man. For how long it takes to unlock this boss, it's kind of not worth it.

I'll bet he speaks in Wingdings like W.D. Gaster from Undertale
I'll bet he speaks in Wingdings like W.D. Gaster from Undertale

Also apparently his special ability is to remove one of your traits with every attack. Which would suck if you invested 8+ hours unlocking him then lost half of your traits.

I’m still playing Fallout Shelter and I still have not given into the microtransactions! Victory! I have seen a lot of commercials for the bonuses. Commercials on games I have no interest in playing. So many asset flip games out there, which is the norm apparently. The coolest trailers have been for Raid Shadow Legends and that Alice in Wonderland looks boss and reminds me of that twisted American Mcgee Alice series.

Anyway, Macdaddy Morgan has been busy:

I'm guessing 3/4th of this vault are MacDaddy Morgan's spawn. DAMN!
I lost track, how many of these people are from the same man?!

70+ Dwellers so far and apparently there is a max at 200, so I’m not even at half yet. I am having lots of fun with this silly casual game based on one of my favorite gaming series. I will say this though, the “Incident” enemy encounter thing does get old quick. I finally had Deathclaws appear and I tried to get my best fighters take them down but the Deathclaws just ran off to the next room before my fighters could do anything.

I try to go in and get things done before an incident happens and shit hits the fan. But most of the time, one or two incidents happen and I sit back being all like “I’m on a timer for my own good, don’t eat up so much of my time, aaaaah!” And since I have the timer on and I like getting bonuses from the commercials I’m not watching, I go in for ten to twenty minutes and peace out until the timer on the commercial is done [which is about 2 hours].

And I browsed Google Play and found a couple games I’m in but haven't tried yet. I have always wanted to play “Castlevania: Symphony of the Night” and it is available for three bucks BUT it is the kind of game I would like a control in my hand. Then there is “Carrion” which is another metroidvania I’m interested in and I could see the touch screen controls working for the meaty mutant monster going through tunnels and eating people.

And beyond “Balatro” and “Stardew Valley” there are no other games that interest me. There are a lot, a LOT of games that just scream “give me your money” or “we made this on a weekend” or both. I mean, respect to anyone who can make a game, no matter how derp or janky it is, but there are only so many hours in the day and if I’m gaming, I’m playing something that interests me.

So that’s gaming, well, video gaming. My monthly Table Top Group met this past weekend and a couple people could not make it. And since these two PC’s characters were essential to the current storyline, the players who could make it played “Dungeon Crawlers Classic.”

"I got an axe and a badass helmet and only 5hp! Hit me!"
"I got spikes around my wrist! I'm ready, Baby! BRING IT!"

My friends and I had a lot of fun with this. Each PC gets four characters at level 0 and these characters are barely able to walk let alone go on a dangerous adventure. But circumstances happen and the ground of everyday villagers go into a dungeon and try to solve the problem. It’s a meat grinder game where you expect to lose at least two or three of your characters within the first hour of play. I like these kinds of games that lend themselves to one shots. I had so much fun that I kind of want to play more of DCC. Maybe a version of this with “Call of Cthulhu” or “Deadlands”.

There was a website that allowed us to generate our characters rather then build them from scratch. And this is what I ended up with:

I can't get PDFs on here without a special app and not dealing with that BS.
Names/Role: Goob/Ditch Digger, Meaty/Butcher, Quelltch/Blacksmith, Rugg/Parsnip Farmer

Goob was a huge coward because of his 1 hp and he ran from most encounters, so he survived. He was also spiteful, eating his copper coins before entering a dangerous building.

Meaty had lots of personality but little brains and charged into the crumbling tower and got squashed by falling rocks.

Quelltch was told by Goob to throw his hammer at some mysterious runes with silver ornaments and he did. And nothing happened. Quelltch then went to get his hammer and another character tried to get some silver off the rune and a fireball happened. Quelltch got turned into ash.

Rugg joined three other characters in taking on a beastman and they all managed to do enough damage to take the beastman down. So Rugg technically was the only character in my group that got a kill.

Our villagers found some treasure and decided to use these riches to hire adventurers to do the adventures for them. And our GM was merciful enough to allow us to do this. Since this was our first DCC game, our GM was a lot more lenient on our squishy little villagers.

Oh, I did 20+K steps before doing this game and still had energy for more but we called it once the adventure was done and chatted about geeky stuff. I have to say, after engaging with a new tabletop experience always inspires me to come up with my own tabletop system. Probably will be writing and mathing that out after this.

Today, somehow I have done 16+K and am almost done with this week’s blog. I am doing damn good so far and I will attribute that to the weather. Oh, more good news, I have finished plotting out my next writing project WotGT. So, looking forward to dabbling into that.

For now though, I’m just relaxing and enjoying relaxing. I’ve been doing these blogs so late for the last few weeks that it’s kind of surreal that I’m typing it in the middle of the day. I have to do this more often, it's nice to have time after doing the blog.

Oh, no anime rant this time because I’ve been marathoning “Escape From Vault Disney” once again and taking a break from the big eyes and big boobs. I get more done if I’m not distracted by subtitles and crazy awesome animation. And boobs and cat ears and such.

And on that note, I am wrapping it up for the week. I might brave the 90degree humidity out of curiosity but I am very grateful that there is AC at my place of work. And I am all morning shift this week, so maybe, MAYBE, I’ll actually do some writing.

Good Luck and don’t get cooked out there,
