Update April 2026
Wow, another month has gone by. If not for the notification on my phone, I would have forgotten all about posting this month’s update. Yeah, not many interesting things have been happening lately. Zach and I are plugging away at Last Job 2.
It has been fun to write again. No, it has been satisfying and productive and I have missed it. My motivation has been so low though, thanks to the bitter-butt winter we have been having this year. The weather is getting nicer and Lent is almost over [Fish Fry stress almost done, yeah!]. I hope to write a whole lot more in April. Speaking of the weather . . .
It has been scattered all over the temperature spectrum and the precipitation keeps changing. Not just a week ago it was in the twenties and snowing. Now it is in the sixties and there is thunder outside. I am trying to write this update before another storm hits. Though, I also have an anime in the background which is distracting.
The anime is called “The Unaware Atelier Meister” and is a fun “unaware hero” comedy. But having this in the background has made me realize that I do need to make a change. I have been watching a lot of stuff, especially in the winter, to pass the time. Spring is here though and I have to cut back on the watching stuff. I may even have to cut out time for watching altogether. I need time to write and a lot of my free time has been spent watching stuff.
Yeah, some changes will need to be made if I am going to invest time into writing again. It has been on my mind for a while, to cut myself off of watching stuff ___Completely___. I currently have a subscription to Netflix and Crunchyroll. I have not watched Netflix in huge bursts in a while. Couple reasons why: One, I am on the lowest plan which throws commercials into the mix. Still not used to commercials, after watching Crunchyroll without commercials for so long. Two: There is so much to watch that I just get sensory overload and watch what I have watched before again.
So, I might be unsubscribing to Netflix soon. Also, the subscription cost for all streaming services has been rising. And my hours at work have been cut in the past couple months. Yeah, some changes will be needed in the near future.
And what else to talk about? Well, I have been experimenting with making my own card game. I was inspired by a friend making her own game, and her game is inspired by Magic the Gathering. But MtG was never my thing, it gets far too complicated. I get the appeal but the game’s mechanics go over my head. Anyone explaining MtG to me might as well be speaking Ancient Sumerian.
So, when my friend was test-playing her game at a game store, it was kind of overwhelming to me. But other MtG players were testing her game and were getting into it. Also, I did a lot of stuff on that day, so my brain was not in the mood for MtG gaming. Anyway . . .
The card game I want to make is far, far simpler. The goal is to make a train track with playing cards. And so far, I might be onto something. More development will be needed. And that is it.
Actually, “that is it” pretty much sums up what I have to say for this month. March has been slow and besides making progress with Last Job 2 with Zach, I really do not have anything else to share. Well, this blog is over five hundred words and that seems like enough for a slow month of no writing or anything of note.
And with that,
Good Luck and get some fresh air while you caaaaaaan!
