Update 2025 / 6 / 4

So, how has my last week been . . . well, I can sum it up like this:

Wake up, breakfast, go to work, work, lunch, go back to work, get home, do chores and stuff, try to write, almost fall asleep, open eyes at dinner, play Loop Hero while watching random anime.

Put that on repeat since last update and basically that has been my week. Only after a couple of days, I stopped even proofreading because I was drifting into a nap and midday naps are not good for me. They throw off my sleep schedule, naps are evil!

Anyway, yeah, as I predicted, I played a lot of Loop Hero, just to keep myself active and awake. I was back on morning shift which I do prefer but my body was use to midday shifts and my motivation to be productive basically was derp.

But on the bright side, I did do a lot of planning for stories in my head while the work days progressed and I am off a couple days, so I will be catching up on writing something. Anything really, at this point.

My week has been nothing but a blur and I can safely say I will be taking a long rest tonight before cracking on writing tomorrow. BTW writing this in the early evening on 6/3.

So, anime, because I basically talk about that all the time. I will admit, I was so invested in Loop Hero that I was half paying attention to most of the anime that were on in the background. I did get invested into one called “The Faraway Paladin” which has to be the most sincere shonen anime set in a medieval fantasy I had seen in a while. Every trope was genuinely and actually had heat behind it and was straight faced, not humorous or tongue in cheek at all. There is a fight with a dragon which was epic and boss and felt like a conclusion to a D&D campaign, it was pretty awesome. I do recommend “The Faraway Paladin” if you are looking for something that’s not a comedy and is genuine with what it is doing.

I’m still watching “Snow White with Red Hair” and it's still an interesting drama with the occasional action scene. But I got to say, being someone who wants to write stories with drama and twists, sometimes my own instincts spoil things for me. For instance, after the lead gets kidnapped by pirates (long story) the main cast joins forces with a local mercenary group that fights bandits and pirates and such. So, the leader of this merc group is introduced and I’m like “That has to be the lead girl’s dad” and I almost was expecting the twist to be that he wasn’t her dad at all but . . . he was. Still, good anime and I’m almost done with season 2. A nice and sweet and chill little show to watch while having breakfast.

I finished “Yuru Yuri” and I still cannot honestly tell you what my brain witnessed. I checked out hard during that one while playing Loop Hero. Seriously, I know its a lesbian comedy that has zero romance but plenty of fanservice BS and I’m just going to build my map so my Loop Hero can slay all the things and get all the loot. It was one of those anime to have in the background while doing something else.

So, that’s all the anime talk for now. How about that Loop Hero then? Yeah, I do not regret letting myself in gaming a little once again. It’s nice to just have a little fun and indulge in a guilty pleasure once in a while. And man, has it been a ride. I recalled many things from my past playthrough of the game but I’m still learning and discovering new things and tactics. The game has yet to get boring and usually by the time that happens I check out of a game. But Loop Hero never got boring for me even back when I was playing it.

Still, I had my week of fun, I let this hyperfixation slide, now it's time to get back to writing more consistently. Maybe do a little writing then reward myself with a little Loop Hero. Like what I’m doing right now, writing my blog before diving into another loop. And the loops are just now getting good at chapter 4, my strategies are finally paying off and my Hero looks cool while slaying the hoards.

Oh, and I’m going to try adding in some screenshots of Loop Hero I did with my tablet, to test and see what screenshots look on said tablet. I am hoping to put more utility use into this new modern magical device I now have in my possession.
