Red Sonja (2013) #4
And I don't know whether to be turned on or TERRIFIED!
How much Red Sonja is too much Red Sonja?

I was so close, my friends. So close! I got into an email back and forth with a local comic book owner. He took the time to look over my comic list and I was hopeful he would buy the collection. But at the end of the day, he did not have the space to store such a large collection and passed. So, back to recording comics on mycomicshop.

Good news is, I have recorded 1228 comics on the site and 343 are on mycomicshop’s want list. And that is pretty good considering what kind of comics I have. A lot of the Red Sonja issues I have from Dynamite are apparently in demand. So much Red Sonja that I just had to feature one of the covers as a blog title pic.

I can comfortably put 140 issues or so in a short box. So 343 issues is about 2 and a half boxes. I’m not half way through recording the collection and already at 2 and half boxes worth is giving me hope. As long as I can say goodbye to at least a quarter of the collection, recording this on mycomicshop will be worth it.

Beyond that, Zach and I finally got to proofread something. We chat every week but have not had the time to actually proof read a chapter of something. And that something was a chapter of a writing project I did. And it was fun to do that again.

I miss writing for fun.

I sent a care package and wrote a letter to a relative who is going through cancer treatment. He is a writer, professional teacher, and has even published his own comics and RPG book. I wished him all the best because he’s the nicest guy ever with the crappiest luck.

In the letter, I invited him to read one of my writing projects that I do feel could be worth publishing. I’m kind of nervous to hear the opinion of someone who is professional and a lot more literate then I could ever be. But crossing fingers he does accept my invitation and enjoys the story.

Honestly, I don’t have that big enough ego to believe anything I write is worth publishing. At the very least, I would like people to enjoy my work. I could write all I want and I do get enjoyment and fun. It would be cool to share this stuff. Right?

Yeah, I’m likely going to record and sell comics for now. This monkey will never jump off my back until I make some visual progress with it. I have got to sell some of these short boxes. Then maybe . . . MAYBE . . . I can write about writing . . . For a change!

Man, I’m being super snarky to myself right now. And honestly, I’m not really focused on anything. I’ve been pretty derp lately. And maybe after seeing the progress with the comics, I will finally get out of this state of derp.

Good Luck and DERP!

PS: You know I am glad I do these blogs. They remind me of the awesome feeling of looking at the screen watching the words appear while drumming my fingers on the keyboard. And that proofreading session with Zach reminded me how much fun and laughs I get from enjoying writing.

Writing is my favorite hobby and I cannot forget that. Thanks to these blogs, I won’t be forgetting the joy of writing any time soon. So I’m going to keep blogs.
