Funny thing, I currently cannot make a fist but this is the only dice with a hand on it. :(

So, I have very little to say this week. I was in a big table top game with some friends and people I have not met before. The game used the Savage World version of Pathfinder and was a 7 hour blast.

For my first eBook, I’m taking steps and progress is slow. I have an interesting idea to make a cover by myself. But I haven’t done art in a while so we shall see where this goes. I’m going forward to doing some artsy stuff again.

All and all, I’ve been taking it easy the last few days.

I was hoping to do some writing yesterday and today but for some reason my left hand has a very sharp pain within the pointer finger’s knuckle. I cannot think as to why this is happening. I did slip and fall when I was out for the game but I landed on the side of my butt (not the burn parts, thankfully) and I kept my hands to my chest.

At least, that is what I remember. Right now, I’m typing and it hurts like the dickens. Seriously, my burn ends hurt less than my hand right now. I’m not even sure how long I’m going to make this post before my hand tells me otherwise.

The only real news I have is that I made a Bluesky account, as mentioned last week, and I am very slowly gaining followers. I have not been on social media in forever (more like 2014 or 15, I think). It’s all a bit overwhelming. I’m going to try and check it on the regular to see where this Bluesky thing goes.

I will admit, I have a few ideas for flash fiction, which is delivering a story bit by bit on social media posts. Zach and I were talking about it and I’m interested in doing it. I have some ideas and plan to keep it simple and funny. I think simple and funny will work for my first delve into flash fiction. So, we shall see where that goes.

One thing I know for certain is that Bluesky is a dangerous chronophage. I’ve been typing this post then getting lost in various threads and feeds. And I will admit, clicking on the “anime” feed for the first time is an experience. So much good art and art I was not expecting 😮. I had some good laughs at least the first time.

I better close Bluesky for now so I can get this update done.

Oh, the “Love of the Craft” article’s first part is up:

My rant on HP Lovecraft and all the ups and downs that come with being a fan of his work. So, hope you enjoy that. I should make a section for articles on the website. But I’m not sure how many of these I’m going to do. So, we shall see on that too.

One thing off on a tangent here, winter has been really nasty this year in my area 🥶. Thankfully, my family has room in our garage and I have been able to get steps in regularly every day. I’ve tried walking outside but I’m not one for snow and chilly air. Also, after slipping a few days ago, I’d rather avoid tempting fate and fall on my burn ends for real.

Honestly, my left hand is barking and I sadly will probably let it rest the rest of the day. I still cannot think of why this is hurting right now. I see nothing swollen or bruised, so I guess it’s a good thing.

So, I suppose this will do for my update post this week. Hopefully my hand does better in a few days and I can get back to the writing board, so to speak. I’m going to blame cold weather for my hurty hand, blame cold weather on everything!

Good Luck and Keep Warm 😎,

— Buck

PPS: I managed to get this post to the average length of a typical update. And now to rest my weary hand. Crossing fingers it’s better soon 🤞—ow! So, that’s one thing I can’t do. Good to know, good to know 😣
